Buyer Tip: If you're the High Bidder in an auction when it closes, don't assume you're the final High Bidder. Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that you are. Seller's Description
NO RESERVE!! Here's a wonderful early automatic pistol for the advanced collector! This is an early production variation of the Mauser C96 "Broomhandle" known as a Flatside. This pistol was manufactured in 1901 or 1902. It is chambered for the 7,63mm Mauser and wears a 5-1/2" barrel. In addition to the distinctive flat-sided receiver, it has the 50-1000 meter adjustable sight, single lug firing pin, early style safety, large hammer, and early long extractor. There are NO import or "Germany" markings anywhere on the gun. All serial numbered parts are matching with the exception of the rear sight leaf. Lots of original blue finish remains and I'd grade this pistol at about 85-90% overall. There is thinning on the grip straps and at the sharp edges. There is some rust/fine pitting to each side of the rear sight and to the underside of the barrel. The correct 23-groove grips are matching and in excellent shape without cracks or chips. Mechanically, this pistol appears to be in excellent shape with everything working as it should. There does appear to be an old repair to the magazine spring. The bore rates very good with strong, sharp rifling but is no longer bright. It comes with the original wood holster/stock which is numbered to the gun. The stock is in very good shape overall without any cracks but with on small chip missing next to the attaching iron. This is an exceptionally nice pistol....early Broomhandles are seldom encountered in this condition! Buyer pays $25.00 shipping. Your C&R License is acceptable if permitted in your area.
